Virtual Try-On & Image Generation Notice

This Notice describes exactly what happens to a photograph when you use Curate's virtual try-on. It supplements our Privacy Policy and is versioned separately, so that any change to how we handle your photographs is visible on its own.
It is deliberately specific. Photographs of your body are the most sensitive thing you give us, and you are entitled to know precisely what we do with them and what we do not.
What virtual try-on does
You supply a photograph of yourself. You select a garment. Curate generates a new image showing that garment rendered on your photograph.
The generation is performed by Google Vertex AI, using the virtual-try-on-001 model. Your photograph and the garment image are sent to Google for each generation.
What we collect from your photograph
The photograph itself, and nothing derived from it. We store the image file you uploaded, the generated try-on image produced from it, and basic metadata: when it was created, whether you set it as your default photo, and whether it is a full-body or upper-body shot.
That is the complete list.
What we do NOT collect or derive
This section is the point of this Notice. Curate does not perform any of the following:
— We do not scan, map, or measure facial geometry: no distance between eyes, nose width, jawline shape, or any comparable measurement.
— We do not scan, map, or measure body geometry from your photograph.
— We do not create a facial or body template of any kind.
— We do not compare your photograph against any other photograph, in our system or elsewhere.
— We do not use your photograph to identify or authenticate you.
— We do not derive your measurements from your photograph. The measurements Curate uses are the ones you enter yourself on sliders in the app, and nothing on that screen reads an image.
— We do not perform skin tone analysis, pigmentation assessment, or body shape classification from your try-on photograph.
— We do not use your photograph, or any image generated from it, to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any model. We build no models of our own from it, and we do not supply it to anyone for that purpose. What our processors do with data under their own terms is theirs to state, not ours.
We collect no biometric identifiers and no biometric information as those terms are defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act or comparable state laws.
Who receives your photograph
— Google Cloud (Vertex AI): your photograph and the garment image, per generation request, to generate the try-on image.
— Google Cloud Storage: your photograph and the generated image, for storage during and after generation.
— Amazon Web Services (S3, CloudFront): storage and delivery to your device.
— Amazon Rekognition: automated quality checks before generation.
— PicWish: image enhancement and background processing.
— Stream: a generated try-on image, only if you choose to share one into a conversation.
No one else. We do not send your photographs to advertisers, data brokers, or any party not listed above.
How long we keep it
— A photograph you saved as your try-on photo: until you delete it, or close your account. It is not deleted on a timer, because it exists so you do not have to upload a new photo every time you try something on.
— Generated try-on images: automatically deleted 30 days after generation.
— In-flight processing records: automatically deleted 24 hours after the job is created.
Your controls
— Delete a photograph from the try-on photo screen at any time. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
— Use try-on without saving anything: you can upload a photo for a single try-on without setting it as your default.
— Delete everything: Profile then Settings then Delete account removes your photographs, the underlying image files, your generated images, and your measurements.
— Ask us: privacy@curatefashions.com. We respond within two business days.
Age requirement
Virtual try-on is available only to users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly generate try-on images from photographs of minors. If you believe a minor has used this feature, contact privacy@curatefashions.com and we will delete the associated data promptly.
Please only upload photographs of yourself
Upload photographs of yourself. Do not upload a photograph of another person without their permission, and do not upload an image you do not have the right to use.
Generated try-on images are AI-generated simulations. They are approximations produced by a model, and they may not accurately represent fit, colour, fabric, drape, or fine detail. They are not photographs of the product on you, and they should not be treated as a guarantee of how a garment will look or fit. They are not produced, endorsed, or reviewed by the brands whose products appear in them.
Changes to this Notice
Because this Notice covers our most sensitive processing, we version it independently. Any material change increments the version number at the top of this page and will be announced in-product before it takes effect.
